It's Friday, I'm at work, but why not fantasize about better things? I'm going to Jamaica in May and Portugal in July, but I'm always looking for new places to visit. Here are some places I want to go (in no particular order):
- South Africa - I think it's the perfect combination of culture, history, activities and nightlife. From visiting Nelson Mandela's prison cell to whale watching while sipping wine to an overnight safari to great nightlife. (sigh!). Maybe in December, I can swing it....
- Argentina - Everyone goes to Brazil so I'm not rushing to go there. I've been reading up on Argentina and it seems like a great place to visit.
- Dubai - I think it's relatively safe for the Middle East, and if by some chance I become a millionaire, I can stay at the world's only 7 star hotel and have my own butler and two level suite.
- Tokyo - It seems kind of crazy and exciting. (I wouldn't mind Singapore or Thailand either).
- Ibiza -ridic nightlife, luxury, beaches, rich folks. Sounds good. HA!
- Australia - I'm a little turned off by the aboriginal treatment, but it does seem like a beautiful continent.
So where are you dying to go and when are you going?

I've been to South Africa 3 times and it is FABULOUS. You have a picture of Sun City which is just a beautiful and luxurious as in the picture. If you want some tips/highlights - hollar.
Dubai & Austrailia are definitly on my list.
Going to Tokyo next summer with the family... I do want to go to dubai and africa as well...
was wondering when you were going to have a post about traveling miss travel diva lol
i'm a history buff so i would like to go to places that have historical signifigance for blacks
very interested in places where our resistance to slavery and white supremacy was greatest
would love to travel to haiti
jamaica (walk in the footsteps of marcus garvey in st. ann's bay)
definately brazil
escaped afrikans built two seperate nations there (palmares and bahia) and maintained them in the faces of their colonizers for over one hundred years
amazing stuff
I would love to go to:
Martinique, Monaco, Brazil, Haiti, & India. I have NO idea when I'm going to all of these places! LOL
I want to go back to Jamaica. I went there on my honeymoon but I'd love to go back for at least a week.
Salesdiva - Great! I have a couple of books on S. Africa but I would love to get information from a direct source. Definitely will hit you up before I go.
Eb - Tokyo next summer. Excellent!
JT - LOL. I'll be posting some travel journals after Portugal. AND I should have known your travel desires were going to be culturally and socially responsible/profound. LOL.
Park Avenue - Great selections. I've been to Monaco--it's crazy! beautiful--just sitting on a cliff, super rich, really really nice. Funny thing--they don't like rowdiness--so they have cops on like every corner of their little downtown area to keep down confusion.
12kyle--Jamaica is nice!
well, I'm giving birth this summer so I'll have to live vicariously through you regarding vacations!!
Jamaica is beautiful! I love the Caribbean so I'd love to go to more islands like Barbados, St. Thomas, and Aruba.
South Africa is definitely on my list of places I need to visit before I'm 40. Would love to hear how Portugal is--haven't heard much about it.
hmmmmmm, you have some great picks. doesn't dubai have that club made out of ice? (i might have it confused) anyhoo, i would love to go there as well, west africa (nigeria), and rome
I used to live in Tokyo for about 5 years, but I was very young. I would love to go back though! I know a lady who just came back from Dubai, and she loved it!
Grown Woman, Aruba is my favorite place I have ever been. Without exaggerating, the people there were the nicest, friendliest, most helpful people I have ever seen in my entire life.
My husband and I went to the Dominican Republic, but a Haitian uprising started so we couldn't venture out and visit.
Ms. Bee and I are going to Cabo San Lucas, MX this summer to visit some family. CAN'T WAIT!
I'm absolutely dying to go to South Africa. My friends and I made a pact to go to Africa in 2010.
The problem with that is I want to go to South Africa, one of my friends wants to go to Egypt and the other to Israel (I know it is technically not on the continent).
But, since we can't agree and I am an adult, I have decided that if I have to go alone, I will be going to South Africa within the next five years if it kills me.
I hear you smarty!
south africa is fabulous.......... dubai and australia are topping my list.
